INTRODUCTION
Since the Dutch LONG FACED TUMBLER club is not continuing their web site, I have taken some items out of their site of which I think will be of interest.
It will still give us a platform to reach friends all over the world who are interested in the Long Faced Tumbler.
The Long faced Tumbler Club was established on the 16th December 1978, when communication was limited to personal meetings and there were only a few pioneers who actually widened their scope by visiting breeders abroad. There were and are not many breeders of the LFT but they came to a nice success in exchanging views and pigeons all over the world.
With such a fantastic medium as a web site we are fusing Dutch and Spanish enthusiastic LFT fanciers came to the conclusion that a web site should appeal to people in Europe and overseas to express more what is going on in the LFT.
I intend to use this web site to give you a virtual preparation of how we could support each other in reality to improve the Long Faced Tumbler and share the fun and pleasure of the breeders of this favorite fancy pigeon.
In the Netherlands there are a few enthusiastic breeders who are always enjoying the satisfaction this pigeon is giving. There are also a few judges who promote the race, among their colleague judges and paying attention to the on going education and info about developments of the LFT.
The quality of the LFT is high and we feel that now continental Europe is not far behind in comparison to the quality in the United Kingdom. But the Tumbler fancy in the UK is much bigger than it is on the continent.
Exchange of pigeons with between Holland and Germany is easy and therefore the difference in quality is minimal.
Import regulations make the exchange with the U. K. more complicated. We hear that the UK breeders regret this because they would be happy to have some of the continental quality.
Most important for us is to gather a nice group of fanciers who want to work on the pigeon’s quality and use this web site as a forum to increase communication, exchange of birds and experiences and bring us all to a higher level of quality and pleasure in this beautiful hobby.
But above all I shall be depending on the input of information and to send your pictures to show us all where we stand.
Keep on smiling and enjoy the fancy.
